Yes I’m still alive
Sorry everyone. As you may notice, I don't often post blog things. I never assume people care about what I'm doing, or think that my life is that interesting at all, or not interesting enough for anyone to be interested. But I'll recap the past two months since I last posted about my birthday party. Let us see. I survived Snowpocalypse 1, 2 and 3! During the second, Chipmunk and I forged through the snow to the liquor store since the Petworth house was depleted of whiskey. Arriving home with two big Jack bottles, some rum, and 7-up for 7&7's we were revered as champions!
What else? Well I'm a founding member of the ERTC (that's the Epic RoadTrip Club). Together with co-founders ChairTina, TodD, and Adrian Hardkor, we trekked to Manhattan for Adrians' show at The Bottom Line. Amazing time, I got to hit up McSorleys, my #1 bar of all time. TodD and Tina got some tattoos, piercing and red derby for the latter as well.
My most awesome brother Chris Jerques came down this past weekend. A colony we met up with at a beer festival a couple months back had their instillation and chartering. Seeing that gang of kids through the initiation really rekindled my love for ΣAE. ΦA. The banquet was lovely. When asked "Chicken and Steak, or Vegetarian pasta", I thought I went to heaven. Both chicken and steak!? Fantastic! The banquet has all the big wigs, ESA Marty Wiglesworth, ESR Steven Preipke, Provence Gamma Archon Rich Shanahan, and so many more. Greek life portrayed on TV and movies, though douchey and kinda fun, doesn't begin to compare to actual brotherhood in real life. Anywhom, after the ceremony we, as well as all the newly chartered brothers repaired back to the hotel, where we proceeded to chant, sing, and drink until 5-fucking-am.
The road ahead doesn't seem too bad either. Hitting up Myrtle this weekend with 3/4 ERTCers and inducting new members. I'm mentally preparing myself to drink single-barrel with Paul. He will still put my drinking to shame, but I'll do my damn best. Then a week from today, I blast off with the lovely Lauren on a 9 day, cross country roadtrip to LA. I'm very, super stoked about this trip. See things I've never seen before, have crash at some chapter houses along the way, see the grand canyon, New Orleans, Texas BBQ, 4 corners. I mean, shit the list of cool things doesn't end. I'm going to take thousands of pictures, and I'll make sure to post them all.
